An important component of the cost of construction of generation plant is the amount of steel and concrete used. The high values for wind are because of the extra capacity required to overcome the variability of the supply. Solar generation would require much more material. The attraction of Gas generation to an investor is obvious from the table.
The cost per MW are approximations and for indication purposes only. The cost for nuclear are the most recent prices available from the various suppliers. The cost for wind range from onshore to offshore and does not reflect the need to have back up generation.
