Domestic heating is responsible for a third of the CO2 production in Ireland. This source of carbon would be removed completely from the equation if all homes were heated using nuclear generated electricity. The prices shown below are based on the standard Irish heating systems. The heat pump cost is based on 60% night rate and 40% day rate electricity prices.
