This article is an indirect consequence of the various interviews given by EFN in 2004 to the BBC (radio and television).
Nuclear energy debate in London on April 19th, 2005 : Nuclear energy must power our Future
EFN's president will be participating in a round table in London on the theme "Nuclear energy must power our future" in April 2005.
This event is organized in cooperation with the Royal Geographical Society by IQ2 (Intelligence Squarred - http://www.intelligencesquared.com/ ).
Tell all your friends in London to attend this unique event which is expected to attract 850 participants.
The debate will take place at the Royal Geographical Society, 1 Kensington Gore, London, SW7. The entrance to the debates is on Exhibition Road. Doors are open from 6:00pm, the debates start at 6:45pm and end by 8:30pm. Nearest tube: South Kensington (Circle, District and Piccadilly lines).
Speakers for the motion at this event are:
* Lord Parkinson, Former Secretary
of State for Energy in Great Britain.
* Bishop Hugh Montefiore, Member of EFN, Former Bishop of Birmingham
and former Trustee of Friends of the Earth who now believes that
nuclear power is necessary for the future safety of the planet.
* Bruno Comby Founder and President of EFN (Environmentalists for
Nuclear Energy).
Speakers against the motion are:
* Zac Goldsmith Editor of The
Ecologist Magazine.
* Mycle Schneider of the Worldwide Information Service on Energy
(anti-nuclear organization).
* Tony Juniper Executive Director, Friends of the
Earth-UK.
The debate will be chaired by Martyn Lewis - Broadcaster, Chairman Teliris & YouthNet UK.
